Al Jazeera is my new favorite newspaper

My dear buddy Kathryn is working as an English teacher in Israel this year, and it has sure been interesting keeping up with her recently. I'm really so flabbergasted by the current events that I'm somewhat speechless. I can say that I despise the leaders of my country, especially Hillary Clinton, for being so overly loyal, sympathetic, and supportive of Israel. Apparently, according to our federal budget, our USA endows Israel with 10 million dollars a day. ??? We act concerned about national security but are still willing to ally with one of the most murderous and reputedly inhumane military forces on the globe (after, of course, we ourselves have tortured and made prisoners of innocent civilians). http://english.aljazeera.net/

oopsies!

Well, if I know anything then it is that I will fail. Already, I've messed up on my resolutions. A few days ago I was really ugly to my precious husband and I can't even remember what caused the dispute. Its always really stupid trivial things. The resolution of being more gentle was mainly geared towards my relationship with him. I always realize it quickly after I've lost control and gotten ugly, and I feel tremendously awful about it. I am definitely the luckiest girl in the world that he has been so forgiving and loving anyway. He really lives like Christ did. I'm so undeserving. I pray I'll still improve.

9 Resolutions for 2009

(Maybe this is too many...)
(1) PAINT -- I enjoyed my sabbatical in 2008, and remained busy with with our big move, do-it-yourself home renovation projects, and working in the library, but it is time again to get back to the work I truly feel called to do.
(2) DO 1/2 IM -- As previously mentioned in this blog, I have stupidly registered for another triathlon. This one is a 1/2 Ironman. I'm already signed up, so now I just have to execute.
(3) TRAIN FOR TRI -- In order to make myself able to succeed in Resolution #2, I have proposed a workout schedule comprising of swimming, cycling, running, and weightlifting. I also hope that this (increased time at the YMCA) will bring greater friendship into my new-girl-in-town life.
(4) HIKE TO HARPERS FERRY, so that I may fulfill half of that dream I've had since I was a kid.
(5) LAUGH more.
(6) KEEP A CLEAN HOME (a virtue I've overlooked more than I should).
(7) BE MORE GENTLE to the ones I love.
(8) DO MORE IN THE CHURCH that I finally joined 2 weeks ago.
(9) PRAY&BE MORE WILLING/OPEN FOR WHAT GOD WANTS ME TO DO.
